about the project:
In an effort to combine various campus operations into one facility, York College of Pennsylvania purchased the Smurfit-Stone warehouse building. This dilapidated building had been vacant for years with holes in the roof, deteriorating brick, and was in dire need of extensive repair. There had also been a previous fire damaging a portion of the building. Nevertheless, the Owner and design team including Cornerstone Design-Architects saw the potential re-positioning of the building for the campus’ maintenance and grounds, printing and mail services, and incubator business development area.
